Jan Boockmann and Salih Kurtlar are technicians – through and through. They know exactly what is possible – and what isn’t. “And there’s a lot that is possible with the ‘Internet Of Things’!” The important question being: What does the customer want? And: Who exactly is this customer? “This is the classical mistake a lot of start-up entrepreneurs make: You have an idea, descend to your basement laboratory, develop something – and then you go sell the customer a problem that he or she actually doesn’t have”, says Jan. This is why one of the most important things for him is listening with great accuracy. “Most people have a granddad or grandma in their family – so almost everybody has something to say about the elderly.” Besides relatives, it is mainly health care professionals who consult JaSa. “About 1,7 million people are currently being attended to in home care, and numbers are going to double until 2030”, Salih knows, “so there will be a lot of potential for future business.”
They already started their venture JaSa GbR in March, the basic product functions are fixed – now Salih and Jan are busy fine-tuning. “Step by step, we accommodate to our customers’ needs, and have accomplished most of the requirements so far.” Positive feed-back from home care services and nursing homes cheers them on: “We get a lot of requests, and institutions are very interested!” Well, then: Keep it up!
